Sorenson Acquires OmniBridge and Hand Talk to Advance AI Sign-Language Translation

Sorenson, a leading provider of communications solutions for Deaf and hard-of-hearing people, acquired OmniBridge (an Intel internal venture) and Brazilian AI sign-language translation company Hand Talk to accelerate development of automated sign-language translation capabilities. The deals add complementary AI recognition and avatar-based generation technologies and teams to Sorenson’s existing video-relay and interpretation platform to expand its AI-driven accessibility offerings.
