Insurance Divestitures in 2026

Palomar Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLMR) has completed the acquisition of The Gray Casualty & Surety Company from BCP. Gray Surety is a Treasury-listed surety carrier licensed in all 50 states that provides contract bonds to midsized and emerging contractors; the sale represents a PE exit for BCP and expands Palomar's specialty insurance capabilities and national footprint.

Jewelers Mutual Group has acquired EventGuard, an event and wedding insurance program that previously operated as a division of Indemn. JM Insurance Agency Partners will operate the program through carrier Markel Group Inc., enabling Jewelers Mutual to expand its insurtech capabilities and offer event liability and cancellation coverage.

Definity Financial Corporation has completed the acquisition of the personal insurance business and the majority of the commercial insurance business (excluding surety) of The Travelers Companies' Canadian operations. The deal expands Definity's scale and distribution reach in the Canadian property & casualty market, raising combined annual premiums to about $6 billion and is expected to be immediately accretive to operating EPS with meaningful expense synergies.
