CAPTRUST Acquires Campbell Wealth Management and TruNorth Wealth Partners

CAPTRUST Financial Advisors has acquired Campbell Wealth Management (Alexandria, Virginia) and TruNorth Wealth Partners (St. Paul, Minnesota), adding a combined $1.97 billion in client assets and expanding its geographic footprint. The deals bring 33 colleagues from Campbell (with $1.4 billion in assets) and 10 colleagues from TruNorth (with $570 million in assets) to CAPTRUST; financial advisors Houlihan Lokey and Advisor Growth Strategies served as advisors to Campbell and TruNorth, respectively.

The Meritage team of 17 colleagues (including nine advisors) joined CAPTRUST in a deal that closed in December 2025 and will operate under the CAPTRUST brand; Houlihan Lokey served as Meritage's financial advisor.

CAPTRUST Acquires Carolinas Investment Consulting (CIC)

CAPTRUST Financial Advisors has acquired Carolinas Investment Consulting (doing business as Carolinas Wealth Consulting), a Charlotte-based registered investment advisor overseeing about $1.4 billion in client assets and a 20-person team. CIC will adopt the CAPTRUST brand, close its broker/dealer and move accounts to CAPTRUST's broker/dealer (pending regulatory approval); the deal establishes CAPTRUST's second Charlotte location.

CAPTRUST Acquires Ellwood Associates to Expand Endowment & Foundation Offering

CAPTRUST Financial Advisors has agreed to acquire Chicago-based Ellwood Associates, adding the firm's endowment, foundation and retirement-plan practice and bringing approximately 55 Ellwood employees into CAPTRUST. The deal expands CAPTRUST’s alternative investments and endowment & foundation capabilities and gives the firm its first Chicago office; the transaction was announced August 26, 2021 and expected to close in Q4 2021.
