Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired Fort Lauderdale-based John Galt Commercial Insurance Agency, LLC and John Galt Insurance Agency, Inc. The acquisition strengthens Gallagher's property/casualty capabilities in condominium and multi-family real estate across Florida; the John Galt team will remain in place under Gallagher's Southeast retail P/C leadership.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., through its reinsurance division Gallagher Re, has acquired the business and assets of UK-based Lloyd’s broker Bay Risk Services Limited, a member of the Optio Group. Bay Risk, founded in 2016 and specializing in structuring and placing delegated underwriting authority (binder) business for program managers, MGAs and Lloyd’s coverholders, will join Gallagher Re’s global programs practice; the existing Bay Risk leadership team will remain in place. Terms were not disclosed.

Cornerstone’s founders Phil and Allison Hakopian and their team will remain in place, joining Gallagher’s Southwest retail property/casualty brokerage under Scott Firestone to strengthen Gallagher’s homeowners association and regional commercial insurance capabilities.
