Apax Partners Acquires PIB Group from The Carlyle Group

Funds advised by Apax Partners acquired PIB Group alongside PIB's management team; The Carlyle Group (PIB's existing investor) will re-invest for a minority stake. Financial terms were not disclosed; Apax said the investment will support PIB's continued organic growth and accelerated M&A and international expansion. PIB is a diversified insurance intermediary employing over 2,000 people across the UK, Channel Islands, Ireland, Germany, Poland and India.

PIB Group Limited has acquired Internet Insurance Services UK Limited (trading as UKinsuranceNET), a Stockton-on-Tees-based online insurance broker that specialises in property (landlord, holiday home and short-term rental) insurance. The 51-strong team will remain with the business under Managing Director Suzanne Eeles, with founder Steve Bradley remaining as a consultant; PIB says the deal strengthens its property portfolio and online capabilities as part of its ongoing buy-and-build strategy.
