Coinweb Acquires OnRamp Technologies Limited to Gain FINTRAC MSB in Canada

Layer-2 blockchain platform Coinweb has acquired FINTRAC-registered OnRamp Technologies Limited, a Canadian money services business, to obtain Canadian fiat rails and MSB permissions. The acquisition enables Coinweb to offer virtual currency exchange and transfer services in Canada and supports the platform's regulated launch into North America.

Securitize Acquires Pacific Stock Transfer

Securitize, a digital-asset securities firm, has acquired Pacific Stock Transfer, a full-service stock transfer agency headquartered in Las Vegas. The acquisition expands Securitize's transfer-agent capacity and client base—bringing Pacific Stock Transfer's issuer relationships and 1.2 million shareholder accounts onto Securitize's blockchain-enabled share issuance and management platform; the transaction closed on February 16.

Securitize Acquires Distributed Technology Markets and Velocity Platform

Securitize signed a definitive agreement to acquire Distributed Technology Markets, LLC (DTM), an SEC- and FINRA-registered broker-dealer and ATS, and to acquire Velocity Platform, LLC, a money services business with money transmitter licenses. The deal (terms undisclosed) is intended to expand Securitize’s regulated capabilities across primary issuance and secondary trading of private placement and digital asset securities and is subject to regulatory approvals.

Public Acquires Alto's CryptoIRA Business

Public, the New York–based investing platform, has acquired the CryptoIRA business from Alto. The deal transfers Alto's crypto IRA product and related technology to Public so that Public members will be able to trade cryptocurrencies within their IRAs once integration completes in early 2026.

J.P. Morgan Acquires OpenInvest

J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management agreed to acquire OpenInvest, a fintech specialist in values-based (ESG) investing and impact reporting. OpenInvest will retain its brand and be integrated into J.P. Morgan's Private Bank and Wealth Management offerings; terms were not disclosed and the deal was expected to close in Q3 2021.

Securitize Acquires MG Stover's Fund Administration Business

Securitize has acquired the fund administration business of MG Stover, adding the team and capabilities to Securitize Fund Services (SFS) and making SFS the largest digital-asset fund administrator. The deal expands Securitize’s fund administration, compliance, and reporting capabilities and increases SFS’s assets under administration to roughly $38 billion across 715 funds.
