Avem Partners, with capital support from True West Capital Partners, a prominent family office and other investors, closed the acquisition of substantially all assets of Dynamic Aerostructures, Inc. (doing business as FMI Aerostructures) via a court-supervised Section 363 sale following the company's Chapter 11 filing. Avem intends to stabilize operations at FMI's 226,000-square-foot Valencia, California manufacturing facility, leverage customer relationships with major aerospace OEMs, and expand its aerospace and defense manufacturing footprint.

First Aviation Services Acquires Associated Aircraft Manufacturing & Sales (AAMSI)

First Aviation Services Inc. has acquired Associated Aircraft Manufacturing & Sales, Inc. (AAMSI), a Fort Lauderdale-based manufacturer and MRO provider for aircraft electronics, avionics, hydraulic and landing gear components. The deal, completed on November 22, 2022, expands First Aviation's manufacturing and repair capabilities — particularly its defense / DOD-approved repairs — and creates opportunities for vertical integration across its component repair and overhaul operations.

AFV Partners Acquires Aircraft Performance Group from Liberty Hall Capital Partners

AFV Partners LLC, a technology-focused holding company, has acquired Aircraft Performance Group, LLC (APG), a provider of flight operations software, from Liberty Hall Capital Partners. The deal closed on January 3, 2020; terms were not disclosed. APG is headquartered in Lone Tree, Colorado and provides mission-critical flight planning, runway analysis and weight & balance software to commercial, business and military aviation customers.

Macquarie AirFinance Acquires $2.2B Aircraft Portfolio from ALAFCO

Macquarie AirFinance, with backing and equity from Macquarie Asset Management, PGGM Infrastructure Fund and Australian Retirement Trust (ART), will acquire a $US2.2 billion aircraft portfolio from ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company K.S.C.P. The deal — supported by a $US1.65 billion acquisition facility underwritten by BNP Paribas, Citibank, MUFG Bank and Natixis — will expand and modernize Macquarie AirFinance's fleet and improve its emissions profile; ALAFCO shareholders approved the transaction and completion was expected in 2023.

FlyUSA Acquires 3B Aviation

FlyUSA has acquired Tampa-based 3B Aviation, expanding FlyUSA's privately managed fleet to 15 aircraft across the Tampa Bay region. 3B Aviation founder Nick Barrows joins FlyUSA as President of Acquisitions and Management; prior to the deal 3B employed about ten pilots and managed 13 aircraft for more than 25 private owners.

Textron eAviation Acquires Amazilia Aerospace

Textron's eAviation division has acquired substantially all the assets of Amazilia Aerospace, a Munich-based engineering firm that develops digital flight controls and vehicle management systems. The approximately 30-person Amazilia team will continue supporting Pipistrel programs including the Surveyor and Nuuva V300 as Textron expands its electric aviation and cargo UAV capabilities.
