EQT Acquires IndoStar Home Finance for INR 17.5 billion

EQT has agreed to acquire 100% of IndoStar Home Finance, a subsidiary of IndoStar Capital Finance Limited, for INR 17.5 billion (USD ~210 million) and will invest an additional INR 5 billion of primary capital to support growth. IndoStar Home Finance — an affordable housing finance provider with ~INR 24 billion AUM, 130+ branches across nine states and over 1,000 employees — will leverage EQT's digital and go-to-market expertise to expand its geographic footprint across India.

TPG Acquires 99.02% Stake in Poonawalla Housing Finance

TPG, through its Asia-focused private equity platform TPG Capital Asia, has completed the acquisition of a 99.02% equity stake in Poonawalla Housing Finance Limited from Poonawalla Fincorp Limited and will infuse up to INR 1,000 crore of additional equity to support growth. PHFL is a pan‑India affordable housing finance company with a deep branch network and ~Rs. 6,571 crore AUM (Jun'23); TPG intends to partner with existing management to scale the business in the affordable housing segment.

Exiting shareholders include WestBridge Capital, Elevar Equity, Omidyar Network India and Saama Capital; the deal is subject to regulatory approvals and aims to scale Vistaar's MSME lending franchise.
