Citizens Financial Group Acquires 80 HSBC East Coast Branches and National Online Deposit Business

Citizens Financial Group has closed its acquisition of 80 East Coast branches and the national online deposit business from HSBC Bank U.S.A., N.A., adding more than 800,000 customer accounts and rebranding the branches as Citizens. The deal expands Citizens' physical presence in the New York City metro, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Florida markets and brings more than 500 former HSBC employees to Citizens as part of the conversion.

Columbia Banking System Acquires Pacific Premier Bancorp

Banc of California Acquires Pacific Mercantile Bancorp

Banc of California, Inc. (NYSE: BANC) agreed to acquire Pacific Mercantile Bancorp (NASDAQ: PMBC) in an all-stock transaction announced March 22, 2021 and completed on October 18, 2021. The deal was valued at approximately $235 million at announcement (consideration reported at about $226 million at close) and expands Banc of California's Southern California business-banking franchise by adding roughly $1.5 billion in assets, ~$1.3 billion in deposits and ~$980 million in gross loans.

West Coast Community Bancorp (Santa Cruz County Bank) Merges with 1st Capital Bancorp

West Coast Community Bancorp (parent of Santa Cruz County Bank) completed a merger with 1st Capital Bancorp (and 1st Capital Bank) effective October 1, 2024, and launched the combined bank brand, West Coast Community Bank, on April 1, 2025. The stock-for-stock transaction (1st Capital shareholders received 0.36 shares of Bancorp) expanded the combined franchise across California's Central Coast and Silicon Valley, creating a ~10-branch community bank with roughly $2.8 billion in total assets and increased lending capacity.

Huntington Bancshares Closes Merger with Cadence Bank

Pacific Western Bank Acquires Civic Financial Services from Wedgewood
