California American Water Acquires Bass Lake Water Company System

California American Water has completed the acquisition of the Bass Lake Water Company system, which serves approximately 1,000 customers in Bass Lake, California. The transaction, approved earlier by the California Public Utilities Commission, will transfer operations to California American Water on August 19, 2025 and is intended to strengthen local water infrastructure and service.

The $150,000 transaction was approved by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission on August 2, 2023 and closed October 31, 2023, expanding Indiana American Water's presence in southeast Indiana and providing the small system access to the company's operations, capital and customer service resources.
