Bain Capital Private Equity has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Evident Corporation (formerly Olympus Scientific Solutions) from Olympus Corporation. Evident, a global manufacturer of microscopes, videoscopes and non-destructive testing equipment for life science and industrial markets, will operate as an independent company with Bain supporting expansion of digital products, workflow integration and automation; the deal was expected to close in Q1 2023 subject to regulatory approvals.

Wabtec Acquires ARINC Rail Solutions Business from Collins Aerospace

Wabtec Corporation has acquired Collins Aerospace’s ARINC rail solutions business segment to expand its digital and electronics portfolio for rail optimization; financial terms were not disclosed. The ARINC rail solutions business provides dispatch, back-office, PTC integration, customer information, cybersecurity and life-cycle management services for transit, regional, inter-city, commuter, subway and light rail systems across the U.S. and Canada.

The acquisition expands Wabtec’s maintenance-of-way and railcar mover offerings, adds Nordco’s aftermarket and inspection technology capabilities, and is expected to be immediately accretive to EBITDA and cash flow while delivering cost synergies.
