Cairngorm Capital-backed National Timber Group has acquired SV Timber Limited, a specialist timber merchant with three branches across the Midlands. The bolt-on expands NTG's Midlands footprint and customer reach; SV Timber's founders Edward Holder and Richard Rowley will remain involved as the business relocates its flagship site from Ilkeston to larger premises in Nottingham.

Rubicon Partners Acquires Consolidated Timber Holdings Group Ltd (CTHG)

Rubicon Partners has acquired the share capital of Consolidated Timber Holdings Group Ltd (CTHG), a UK timber distribution and manufacturing group whose businesses include MBM Forest Products and Falcon Panel Products. The investment will support an ownership-management transition for the group's director-shareholders and provide capital to grow both the distribution and manufacturing sides of the business.

Cairngorm Capital Acquires Fairalls (Builders' Merchants)

Cairngorm Capital Partners has acquired Fairalls (Builders' Merchants) Limited, adding it to its existing building merchant businesses Parkers Building Supplies and Stamco to create the largest independent builders' merchant group in the South East of England. The enlarged group operates 24 branches with over 500 employees and combined revenues of approximately £120 million; Fairalls itself reported c.£15m revenue and about 85 employees and will continue to trade under the Fairalls brand with Richard Fairall remaining involved during the transition.

The private equity firm will support management with capital and strategic guidance to expand the business via new branches and add-on acquisitions across the Thames Valley.
