Syngenta Group Acquires Verisem BV from Paine Schwartz Partners

Syngenta Group's vegetable seeds business agreed to acquire Verisem BV, a global seed production, processing and distribution company, from Paine Schwartz Partners' Food Chain Fund IV. The deal, terms undisclosed, is intended to strengthen Syngenta's vegetable seed production capabilities and global footprint; the transaction is subject to customary regulatory conditions.

The deal adds two retail locations (including purchase of a 10,000 sq ft Battle Creek property), strengthens GrowGeneration's presence in Michigan and expands its footprint in the commercial and recreational cannabis cultivation end market.

Agro Care and CombiVliet Merge to Create Dutch Tomato Leader

Agro Care (an NPM Capital–backed grower) and fellow Dutch tomato grower CombiVliet have merged and will operate under the name Agro Care, combining nearly 500 hectares of greenhouse production with ambitions to reach 1,000 hectares in the Netherlands and internationally. The deal aims to drive efficiency and sustainability through shared staff services, joint purchasing and a common headquarters; Kees van Veen will be CEO of the combined business while Roy van Vliet and Philip van Antwerpen will lead Dutch and Tunisian operations respectively.

The deal expands Auxo's railroad infrastructure maintenance platform, broadens geographic reach in the Eastern U.S., and creates the largest pure-play herbicide rail vegetation management platform alongside Ferrovia.
