Monomoy Capital Partners Acquires Liberty Safe

Monomoy Capital Partners has agreed to acquire Liberty Safe Holding Corporation, a Payson, Utah-based designer, manufacturer and distributor of branded and private-label home and gun safes. Liberty Safe operates a large independent dealer network and sells through national sporting goods and home improvement retailers, employing approximately 425 people.

Sweet Tooth operates Micelli Chocolate Mold Company and Aztec Tooling & Injection Molding Company, supplying polycarbonate chocolate molds and custom injection-molded parts to confectionery, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, automotive and retail customers; Monument will provide strategic support and capital to expand the company's reach and capabilities.

Monomoy Capital Partners acquired Chicago-based Edsal Manufacturing, a family-owned maker of steel shelving, cabinets and storage products, in 2018. Monomoy's operating team worked with Edsal management to redesign product (a weldless, rivet-less shelving system), reshore production to the United States, reduce freight costs and improve supply-chain and environmental outcomes.

An affiliate of Shadowbriar Capital Partners acquired a controlling stake in Benada Aluminum Products from Big Shoulders Capital and ABGB Capital; the sellers will remain minority investors. White Oak provided $32.5 million of committed debt financing to support the transaction. Shadowbriar intends to partner with Benada's management to expand the company's manufacturing capabilities and drive long-term growth across its building-products and industrial end markets.
