Compass Electronics Group Acquires Protech Global Solutions

Compass Electronics Group (CEG), a platform backed by Compass Group Equity Partners, has acquired El Paso-based electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and third-party logistics provider Protech Global Solutions. The deal adds Protech's EMS, cable/wire-harness assembly, box-build and supply-chain capabilities (facilities in El Paso and Ciudad Juárez) to CEG's platform to broaden its full-service solutions for connected-device OEMs.

H.I.G. Capital Acquires SMTC Corporation

(PTI), adding PTI's 20,000-square-foot Baltimore-area electronics manufacturing facility to expand Patton's Maryland production footprint and manufacturing capabilities. The deal expands Tide Rock's PCB/EMS capabilities—adding design, quick-turn prototyping, box builds and production services—and keeps Pro-Active's management team in place while founder Toby Klusmeyer retires.
