Wren Sterling Acquires TW Financial Planning Limited

Wren Sterling has acquired TW Financial Planning Limited, a Newcastle-under-Lyme-based advisory firm with three financial planners that services over 750 households and manages approximately £265 million in client assets. The acquisition expands Wren Sterling's national office network into the West Midlands and aims to retain the TW team while leveraging Wren Sterling's technology, central resources and Investment Committee to support future growth.

Lightyear Capital Acquires Wren Sterling

Lightyear Capital LLC agreed to acquire a majority stake in UK financial planning firm Wren Sterling from Palatine Private Equity and other shareholders, with Wren Sterling's management remaining significant shareholders. The deal, completed after FCA approval, gives Wren Sterling access to capital to pursue organic growth and selective acquisitions while continuing to expand its UK advice network.

Wren Sterling Acquires Sentinel, BKASL and Rothesay Intelligent Financial Services

Wren Sterling completed three acquisitions in the first half of 2021, buying Sentinel Private Clients Limited (Warwickshire), Bookeeping Administration Services Ltd (Cardiff) and Rothesay Intelligent Financial Services Ltd (Bedfordshire). The deals add roughly £294m of client assets and about 550 clients to Wren Sterling as it continues a roll-up strategy supported by acquisition funding partner DunPort Capital Management.

Wren Sterling Acquires In Focus Group (In Focus, Certus, Hughes Carne)

Wren Sterling has completed the acquisition of the In Focus Group (comprising In Focus, Certus and Hughes Carne), bringing approximately £450 million of client assets and 2,500 clients into the Wren Sterling Group. Nine advisers and ten support staff have transferred to Wren Sterling and the In Focus Group’s Fareham office will become Wren Sterling’s new Solent office, strengthening the buyer’s presence across the south coast (Southampton, Portsmouth and surrounding area).

The deal brings Wrenn's advisory team into Mercer as part of the founders' succession/transition plan and expands Mercer's presence in the Carolinas.
