Excelerate Energy Acquires New Fortress Energy's Jamaica LNG and Power Platform

Excelerate Energy has closed its acquisition of New Fortress Energy's integrated LNG and power assets in Jamaica, including the Montego Bay and Old Harbour LNG terminals and the Clarendon combined heat and power plant. The transaction was funded with approximately $1.0 billion of equity and debt financings and is expected to bolster Excelerate's downstream capabilities and raise its FY2025 Adjusted EBITDA guidance.

Los Angeles-based private equity firm Fusion Capital Partners has acquired Excel Engineering, a Diagonal, Iowa-based testing and certification firm that provides engine, powertrain, battery and emissions testing services to OEM and industrial customers. The transaction (terms undisclosed) is positioned as a growth-oriented, capability-expanding platform investment to scale Excel's testing capacity, capabilities and talent; Monroe Capital acted as a joint lead arranger on the senior credit facility supporting the deal.

Equinor and SSE Thermal have completed the £341 million acquisition of Triton Power from Energy Capital Partners, forming a 50:50 joint venture to own Triton. Czech independent power producer ENERGO-PRO has acquired 100% of the share capital of Xallas Electricidad y Aleaciones, S.A.U. (Xeal) and Feroe Ventures & Investments S.L.U. from Sixth Street. The deal, financed in part with a EUR 300 million bridge loan from J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs, adds ten hydropower plants (167 MW) and two ferroalloy plants in Galicia and secures a pumped-storage concession pipeline to ENERGO-PRO.
