NativeSeed Group, a Heartwood Partners portfolio company, has acquired Star Seed, a producer and supplier of conservation and farm seeds based in Osborne, Kansas. The add-on expands NativeSeed's product offering (adding warm-season varieties and >300 seed varieties) and extends its geographic footprint into the U.S. Midwest to better serve conservation, farm, and restoration customers.

Heartwood Partners Acquires NativeSeed Group

Heartwood Partners LLC has acquired NativeSeed Group, a vertically integrated provider of native seeds and erosion control products headquartered in Carpinteria, California, from founder Victor Schaff. Heartwood said it will partner with the existing management team to expand the business organically and via strategic add-on acquisitions to grow geography and customer types.

Kava Equity Partners (Southern Ute Growth Fund) Acquires Arrowhead Contracting

Kava Equity Partners, the direct private equity arm of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund, has acquired Arrowhead Contracting, an environmental remediation and general contracting firm headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas. Arrowhead — founded in 1990 — will retain its existing management team and will leverage Kava and the Growth Fund's resources to expand its federal and commercial remediation and construction capabilities.

Superior Environmental Solutions Acquires Arrowhead Environmental Services

Superior Environmental Solutions (SES), a portfolio company of Palladium Equity Partners, has acquired Arrowhead Environmental Services, a Windsor, Virginia-based provider of environmental and industrial services. The add-on expands SES's geographic reach into the Southern Mid-Atlantic (Central Virginia), brings approximately 50 employees and 75 customers into the SES platform, and underscores Palladium's strategy of growing SES via tuck-in acquisitions; financial terms were not disclosed.

Buyers Edge Platform Acquires ArrowStream
