Advanced Automation Technologies (AAT), a laboratory-automation platform backed by Battery Ventures, has agreed to acquire GERSTEL GmbH & Co. KG and its international subsidiaries. The add-on will expand AAT's product portfolio and global sales and service capabilities in automated sample-preparation and analytical instrumentation, particularly for GC/MS and LC/MS applications.

Battery Ventures Acquires Labguru to Join Titian Software Platform

Battery Ventures acquired Labguru (BioData Inc.) from Holtzbrinck Digital and will combine Labguru with its portfolio company Titian Software to create an integrated, global life-science lab- and sample-management platform. Labguru's ELN/LIMS/informatics capabilities will be folded into the Titian-led platform to expand end-to-end offerings for biotech, pharma and research institutions; terms were not disclosed.

EQT Private Equity Acquires SPT Labtech from Battery Ventures for GBP 650 million

EQT Private Equity (EQT IX) has agreed to acquire SPT Labtech, a UK-based designer and manufacturer of automated liquid handling, sample preparation and consumables for life science research, from Battery Ventures for GBP 650 million. EQT will support SPT's next phase of growth by accelerating product innovation, scaling its Cryo-EM sample preparation business and expanding into new geographies and end markets; the transaction is expected to close in Q3 2022.

Advanced Automation Technologies (AAT), a PE-backed laboratory automation platform supported by Battery Ventures, has acquired TE Instruments (TEI), a Delft-based specialist in combustion elemental analyzers. TEI will join AAT's family of brands (including Skalar Analytical, LCTech, PromoChrom, EST Analytical, tsHR and GERSTEL) to create a unified combustion analyzer division and expand AAT's global sales, service and technical support in environmental, petrochemical and industrial markets.
