Omni Fiber Acquires Ohio Telecom, Inc.

Omni Fiber completed the acquisition of Port Clinton–based Ohio Telecom, Inc. on November 30, 2022 to accelerate its FTTP expansion across Northern Ohio. The deal brings Ohio Telecom employees and customers into Omni Fiber, enables upgrades to Omni's 100% fiber network (up to 2 Gbps) in existing and adjacent markets, and positions Omni to speed planned construction in Sandusky, Perkins Township and Fremont.

Boston Omaha Corporation Acquires Assets of Utah Broadband, LLC

Boston Omaha Corporation, through its wholly owned subsidiary FIF Utah LLC, has agreed to acquire substantially all of the assets of Utah Broadband, LLC for $21.6 million in cash plus a 20% membership interest in FIF Utah issued to Utah Broadband's CEO Steve McGhie. The transaction (expected to close within ~30 days subject to customary conditions) will leave Mr. McGhie with a 20% ownership stake and gives Boston Omaha an 80% initial stake as it plans significant capital investment to expand fiber-to-the-home service across the region.

Boston Omaha Corporation, through its wholly owned subsidiary FIF St George, LLC, has completed the acquisition of the businesses operated by InfoWest, Inc. and Go Fiber LLC, two fiber and fixed wireless internet service providers based in St. George, Utah. The combined businesses serve over 20,000 customers across southern and central Utah, northern Arizona and Moapa Valley, Nevada; InfoWest and Go Fiber equityholders retain a 20% initial ownership stake in FIF St George as Boston Omaha commits additional capital to accelerate FTTH expansion.

Horizon Acquires Consolidated Cooperative's Commercial Fiber Business

Horizon, a Columbus-based fiber-optic broadband provider, has acquired Consolidated Cooperative’s commercial fiber business, adding approximately 450 route miles of fiber and expanding Horizon’s Midwest footprint into Delaware, Marion and Richland counties. Consolidated Cooperative will retain its residential fiber internet services while Horizon will continue serving acquired commercial customers under existing contracts.
