Freeman Spogli & Company acquired a majority interest in Five Star Food Service, Inc., partnering with Five Star management and other investors. The private equity investment will support Five Star’s growth strategy across the Southeast — including organic expansion and add-on acquisitions — while financing was provided by Ares Capital Corporation and Varagon Capital Partners.

Sodexo's InReach Acquires K&R Vending Services

Sodexo’s InReach, the company’s multimarket convenience solution, has acquired K&R Vending Services, a New Castle, Delaware–based vending and breakroom operator. The acquisition expands InReach’s footprint across the Delaware Valley (Philadelphia, Southern New Jersey, Delaware and Eastern Maryland) and brings K&R’s leadership into InReach’s team to support continued foodservice and convenience offerings.

Five Star Food Service Acquires Gulf Coast Canteen

Five Star Food Service, the largest Canteen franchise, has acquired Gulf Coast Canteen, a Mobile, Alabama-based vending operation, adding branches in Mobile and Pensacola and marking Five Star's entry into Florida. Terms were not disclosed; owner Greg Breland sold the business, while Gulf Coast's Ocean Springs, Mississippi operation will be acquired separately by New Orleans-based Refreshments Solutions.

Sodexo Acquires Foodee
