EQT Acquires Baring Private Equity Asia

EQT AB has agreed to acquire Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA) in a €6.8bn transaction comprising 191.2m new EQT shares and ~€1.5bn–€1.6bn in cash, creating a scaled Pan-Asian active ownership platform rebranded as BPEA EQT Asia. The combination brings BPEA's private equity and real estate capabilities into EQT's global platform, with BPEA CEO Jean Eric Salata to lead the combined Asian business.

Macquarie Asset Management’s Green Investment Group (GIG) has completed a growth investment in Galehead Development, a US-based renewable energy development platform. The capital will strengthen Galehead’s balance sheet and capabilities, enabling the company to advance roughly 6 GW of early- to mid-stage solar, wind and storage projects, enter new markets and expand commercial applications for its LandCommand platform.

Macquarie Asset Management and Ontario Teachers' Acquire 31.6% Stake in Puget Holdings

Macquarie Asset Management (via Macquarie Global Infrastructure Fund) and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board closed the acquisition of a 31.6% stake in Puget Holdings from CPP Investments. The stake gives the investors ownership in Puget's primary operating subsidiary, Puget Sound Energy (PSE), a regulated electric and natural gas utility serving customers in Washington State; the deal follows regulatory approvals and reflects buyers' interest in core infrastructure and the clean-energy transition.

Riverbend Energy Group Leads Series B Investment in Qube Technologies

Darcy Partners, a Houston-based provider of technology-focused market intelligence and the Darcy Connect software platform for the energy sector, received a growth investment led by Bain Capital Credit and Pacific Lake Partners, with participation from The Outpost Companies and other private investors. The financing will support scaling of Darcy's Darcy Connect platform and expansion of its energy-transition and sustainability research offerings while founders remain shareholders and new leadership from The Outpost Companies will assume CEO and President roles.

Macquarie GIG Acquires BayWa r.e. Bioenergy GmbH

Macquarie Asset Management's Green Investment Group (GIG), via its Macquarie GIG Energy Transition Solutions fund, has acquired BayWa r.e. Bioenergy GmbH from BayWa r.e. AG. The specialist biogas platform owns five operational biomethane plants in Germany and a development pipeline in Italy; GIG said it will grow the business across Germany, Italy and other European markets.
