CBIZ, Inc. acquired the non-attest assets of Somerset CPAs and Advisors, adding approximately $55 million of revenue and 250 employees to CBIZ’s business. Concurrently, Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. (an independent CPA firm that works closely with CBIZ) acquired Somerset’s attest assets; the transaction expands CBIZ’s presence into the Indianapolis market and broadens its service capabilities.

CBIZ, Inc.'s subsidiary CBIZ Accounting, Tax & Advisory of Washington, LLC acquired the non-attest assets of Berntson Porter & Company, PLLC (effective May 1, 2021). Concurrently, Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. acquired the attest assets; Berntson Porter (Bellevue, WA) has ~120 employees and approximately $26 million in annual revenue. The deal establishes CBIZ's presence in the Puget Sound / Pacific Northwest market and expands its service offerings.

CBIZ Acquires Marcum’s Non-Attest Business

CBIZ, Inc. has completed the acquisition of the non-attest business of Marcum LLP in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at approximately $2.3 billion, creating a combined organization with expected annualized revenue of about $2.8 billion. Concurrently, Marcum’s attest practice was transferred to an independent CPA firm (reported as Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C., which has since adopted the CBIZ CPAs P.C. name), and the deal expands CBIZ’s scale, service breadth and market position in accounting, tax, advisory and related professional services.

Brouse McDowell Acquires Ekker, Kuster, McCall and Epstein

Brouse McDowell announced that the lawyers of Ekker, Kuster, McCall and Epstein (EKME) will join Brouse McDowell effective January 1, 2023, adding eight attorneys and expanding the combined firm to nearly 90 attorneys across six offices. The combination expands Brouse McDowell's geographic footprint into western Pennsylvania and broadens its capabilities across practice areas including corporate transactions, commercial litigation, estate planning, and cybersecurity.

Doeren Mayhew Acquires TBK CPA, PLLC
