Resource Label Group Acquires Seattle-based Labels West

Resource Label Group, a PE-backed label and packaging manufacturer, has acquired Seattle-based Labels West to expand its footprint in the Pacific Northwest. Resource Label — a portfolio company of First Atlantic Capital and TPG Growth — will integrate Labels West’s flexographic and digital printing, shrink sleeve and RFID/NFC capabilities to broaden service offerings for customers in wine & spirits, health & beauty and food/nutraceutical markets.

Ares Management Corporation’s Private Equity Group has completed the acquisition of Resource Label Group, LLC from portfolio sponsors First Atlantic Capital and TPG Growth. Resource Label Group is a leading North American manufacturer of pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves and RFID/NFC solutions headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, operating 19 manufacturing locations and employing roughly 1,400 people; terms were not disclosed.

The deal is the twentieth acquisition for Resource Label and brings Teklabel's digital and flexographic label and flexible packaging capabilities into the RLG platform, with Teklabel's founders remaining in leadership roles.

Majestic Labels' founder Ken Nordlie will join Resource Label Group to lead Southern California digital label operations as the deal becomes the platform's 27th acquisition.
