Health Catalyst (Nasdaq: HCAT) has acquired Electronic Registry Systems, Inc. (ERS), a Cincinnati-based provider of cancer registry software and services, to strengthen its data abstraction and oncology registry management capabilities. The acquisition integrates ERS’s CRStar platform with Health Catalyst’s ARMUS and expands the company’s Tech-Enabled Managed Services (TEMS) offering in chart abstraction and registry management.

Health Catalyst, a healthcare data and analytics company, entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Madison-based healthfinch, a developer of EMR-integrated clinical workflow optimization software. The acquisition (reported at ~$40 million by media outlets) will bring healthfinch's EMR-embedded insights into Health Catalyst's Data Operating System to augment clinical workflows and strengthen its population health portfolio; the deal was expected to close in Q3 2020 and to be funded with a mix of stock and cash.
