Funds advised by SK Capital Partners and Edgewater Capital Partners completed the acquisition of Saint-Gobain's scintillation and photonic crystals business and will rebrand the carve‑out as Luxium Solutions. The business, headquartered in Hiram, Ohio with global facilities in the United States, France and India, supplies scintillation crystals and sapphire/garnet substrates for medical imaging, semiconductor and defense end markets.

The acquisition broadens Luxium's detection-enabling technology capabilities by adding PLX's monolithic optical assembly, optomechanical engineering and systems-integration expertise; debt financing was provided by KeyBanc Capital Markets and a unitranche by Stellus Capital Management.

Goldman Sachs Alternatives Takes Majority Stake in Crystal Group

The Private Equity business at Goldman Sachs Alternatives has agreed to become the majority shareholder in French wealth manager Crystal, alongside Crystal's management team led by Bruno Narchal and Jean-Maximilien Vancayezeele; Seven2 will remain a c.25% shareholder. Crystal, founded in 1992, manages around €22 billion AUM (pro forma for recent acquisitions) and said the investment will support growth in France and internationally, including significant investments in digital and AI. The transaction is subject to regulatory and antitrust approvals.
