Eddy Packing Co., Inc., a protein-processing platform backed by Insight Equity Holdings LLC, has acquired a majority of the assets of Carolina Pride Foods, LLC. The deal adds Carolina Pride’s regional branded and private-label meat portfolio and processing capacity to Eddy’s operations, expanding Eddy’s ability to serve retail and foodservice customers in the Southeast.

HCI Equity Partners Acquires Express Packaging

HCI Equity Partners has acquired Express Packaging, a Newcomerstown, Ohio-based provider of outsourced contract packaging and contract manufacturing services for global consumer brands. Patriot Capital Group provided subordinated debt and an equity investment to support the transaction; Express operates three SQF Level 3 certified facilities in West Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; and Newcomerstown, OH.

ACW Flex Pack (Edgewater Portfolio) Acquires Bag Pack, Inc.

ACW Flex Pack, a portfolio company of Edgewater Growth Capital Partners IV, has acquired Bag Pack, Inc., a custom converter of polyethylene bags, mailers, pouches and specialty flexible packaging products. The deal is an add-on to Flex Pack’s platform to expand manufacturing capabilities and capabilities in flexible packaging as the platform pursues additional acquisitions.

Insight Equity Acquires Strauss Brands LLC

Insight Equity Holdings LLC has acquired Strauss Brands LLC, a family-owned producer of ethically raised specialty meats headquartered in Franklin, Wisconsin. The Strauss family retained a significant ownership stake and Randy Strauss remains CEO; Insight Equity will invest capital to build a new state-of-the-art processing facility, expand production capacity, and grow Strauss's retail and foodservice channels.

BlackHawk Industrial Acquires Packaging Incorporated

BlackHawk Industrial has acquired Packaging Incorporated, a packaging and fastening equipment and supplies distributor headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The acquisition expands BlackHawk's geographic footprint into additional Minnesota and Wisconsin markets and establishes a presence in Iowa; Packaging's commercial management will continue to lead the business within BlackHawk. Financial terms were not disclosed.
