Visa Inc. completed the acquisition of Currencycloud, a London-based cloud payments and FX API platform, to strengthen Visa's foreign-exchange and cross-border payments capabilities. Currencycloud will continue to operate from its London headquarters and serve banks, fintechs and businesses globally; the deal builds on an existing strategic partnership between the two companies.

Blackstone Tactical Opportunities Makes £140M Strategic Investment in Currencies Direct

Funds managed by Blackstone Tactical Opportunities agreed to make a £140 million minority strategic investment in Currencies Direct, partnering with the company's management and existing sponsors Palamon Capital Partners and Corsair, who will retain a majority co-controlling stake. The capital will be used to accelerate Currencies Direct’s growth—including targeted M&A—and Blackstone will join the company's board to support expansion of its digital FX and international payments platform.

ETFS Capital Acquires ETF.com from Cboe Global Markets

Terms were not disclosed; ETFS Capital said it will invest in ETF.com and integrate it with its portfolio assets (including ETF Stream and AltFi) to expand its media, data and analytics capabilities for the global ETF industry.

Coinbase Acquires BUX's Cyprus Unit (BUX Europe Limited)

Coinbase has acquired BUX's Cyprus unit, BUX Europe Limited, and rebranded it as Coinbase Financial Services Europe. Gold.com Acquires Monex Deposit Company and Increases Stake in Atkinsons Bullion & Coins

Gold.com (formerly A‑Mark Precious Metals) closed the acquisition of Monex Deposit Company on January 2, 2026 and also purchased an additional 24.5% equity interest in U.K. online retailer Atkinsons Bullion & Coins, bringing its total stake to 49.5%. The deals expand Gold.com's direct‑to‑consumer footprint and capabilities in bullion retail, custody/storage and international distribution while beginning integration of Monex's operations.

North Castle Partners Acquires Majority Stake in NEST New York from Eurazeo

An investor group led by North Castle Partners will purchase a majority ownership position in NEST New York from Eurazeo in a transaction that values NEST at approximately $200 million. Eurazeo and founder Laura Slatkin will retain minority stakes; the deal is expected to close at the end of November. North Castle plans to partner with management to scale the fragrance lifestyle brand across categories and geographies.
