Siemens Digital Industries Software Acquires ZONA Technology, Inc.

Siemens Digital Industries Software has agreed to acquire ZONA Technology, Inc., a specialist in aeroelastic simulation solutions, to integrate its capabilities into the Simcenter/Xcelerator portfolio. The deal (terms undisclosed) is intended to expand Siemens' simulation capabilities for airframe design and certification and was expected to close in the second half of 2022.

Ansys Acquires Phoenix Integration, Inc.

Ansys acquired Phoenix Integration, Inc., the developer of the ModelCenter platform for model-based engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE), to expand its process-integration and MBSE capabilities. The acquisition, announced May 17, 2021, will broaden Ansys' solution offering by enabling multi-tool workflows and tighter integration between engineering analysis and systems models; financial terms were not disclosed.

Emerson Contributes OSI Inc. and Geological Simulation Business to AspenTech; New AspenTech Launches

Emerson and AspenTech closed a transaction combining Emerson’s industrial software businesses — OSI Inc. and its Geological Simulation Software business — with AspenTech to create a new AspenTech. Emerson owns 55% of the combined company on a fully diluted basis and AspenTech shareholders own the remaining 45%, with shares trading on NASDAQ under the ticker AZPN.

Synopsys Acquires Ansys

Synopsys has acquired Ansys in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at about $35 billion, combining Synopsys' electronic design automation (EDA) and IP capabilities with Ansys' simulation and analysis portfolio to create an integrated "silicon-to-systems" engineering leader. The deal, announced January 16, 2024 and completed July 17, 2025, positions the combined company to deliver integrated multiphysics and EDA solutions across semiconductors, automotive, aerospace and other industries.

Ansys Acquires OnScale to Expand Cloud Simulation Portfolio

Ansys has signed a definitive agreement to acquire cloud simulation provider OnScale to extend its cloud-native portfolio with OnScale’s web-based user interface and cloud simulation framework. The acquisition will integrate OnScale’s technology into Ansys’ existing cloud offerings to provide device-independent, web-based access to Ansys simulation capabilities; terms were not disclosed.
