LS Power Acquires Algonquin Power & Utilities' Renewable Energy Business

LS Power completed the acquisition of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp.’s large-scale renewable energy business on January 8, 2025. LS Power created Clearlight Energy to operate the acquired ~3,000+ MW of operating wind, solar, battery and RNG assets, while its REV Renewables unit will acquire the remaining ~6,200 MW of development projects, expanding LS Power’s utility-scale renewables and storage footprint across the United States and Canada.

LS Power Acquires GI Energy, Rebrands Company as Endurant Energy

LS Power will provide capital and operational support to scale Endurant's development, ownership and operation of distributed energy solutions including microgrids and battery energy storage systems; Endurant is headquartered in Chicago and has about 25 employees.

Integrated Power Services Acquires Lighthouse Global Energy

LS Power Acquires bp's US Onshore Wind Business

LS Power completed the acquisition of bp’s US onshore wind business, BP Wind Energy North America Inc., adding approximately 1,300 MW of operating onshore wind capacity across 10 projects. The assets will be integrated into LS Power affiliate Clearlight Energy, expanding Clearlight’s national footprint and increasing LS Power’s North American renewable generation scale.

Energywell Acquires Engie Retail's Think Energy Business

Energywell, an energy technology company backed by funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management and Hartree Partners, has signed a purchase and sale agreement to acquire Engie Retail, LLC d/b/a Think Energy. The acquisition (subject to FERC approval) expands Energywell's retail footprint across 13 states and Washington, D.C., and will enable rapid deployment of Energywell's Proton platform across the Think Energy customer base.
