i3 Broadband Acquires Big River Broadband and Circle Fiber

i3 Broadband has completed the acquisition of Big River Broadband and its wholly owned subsidiary Circle Fiber, expanding i3's fiber-to-the-home footprint into southeast Missouri. The Peoria-area operator said the deal closed on May 31, 2023 and that it expects to invest an additional $100 million to grow the southeast Missouri market and expand gigabit services.

American Broadband Acquires Fiber Assets of BNT Broadband and WayneNet

American Broadband Holding Company, a PE-backed rural broadband operator, acquired the fiber assets of BNT Broadband and WayneNet to expand its fiber-to-the-home build-out in Wayne, Nebraska. The transaction supports American Broadband's geographic expansion of its 1GB-capable fiber backbone and was announced alongside leadership appointments to support growth.

Boston Omaha Corporation Acquires Assets of Utah Broadband, LLC

Boston Omaha Corporation, through its wholly owned subsidiary FIF Utah LLC, has agreed to acquire substantially all of the assets of Utah Broadband, LLC for $21.6 million in cash plus a 20% membership interest in FIF Utah issued to Utah Broadband's CEO Steve McGhie. The transaction (expected to close within ~30 days subject to customary conditions) will leave Mr. McGhie with a 20% ownership stake and gives Boston Omaha an 80% initial stake as it plans significant capital investment to expand fiber-to-the-home service across the region.

Rural Telecommunications of America Acquires Blue Ridge Fiber, LLC

Rural Telecommunications of America, Inc. (RTA) has completed the acquisition of Blue Ridge Fiber, LLC to expand RTA’s gigFAST NETWORK and accelerate its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) rollout in the Midland–Odessa, Texas area, including the Greenwood neighborhoods. RTA will begin infrastructure enhancements immediately and bring gigabit fiber services to local residents and businesses.

ResortNet Acquires Assets of Broadband MDU

ResortNet, a Colorado-based internet service provider and private cable operator, has acquired the assets of Broadband MDU, a Florida-based internet and television service provider. The deal expands ResortNet’s customer footprint and engineering capabilities in southern Florida and strengthens its multi-tenant (MDU) bulk service offerings across the southeastern United States.
