EagleTree Capital Acquires Lignetics from Taglich Private Equity and Mill Road Capital

EagleTree Capital, on behalf of its EagleTree Partners V fund, has acquired Lignetics Inc. from Taglich Private Equity and Mill Road Capital. Lignetics — the largest consumer-focused wood pellet manufacturer in the U.S., headquartered in Louisville, Colorado — will serve as a new platform investment for EagleTree; co-investors include Alpha Associates, Bullingham Capital, Farol Asset Management, Manulife Investment Management, Misland Capital, Northwestern Mutual Capital, and Thrivent Financial. Terms were not disclosed; Lignetics operates 22 plant locations (U.S. and Canada) with ~1.4M tons annual production capacity and brands across residential heating, BBQ pellets and pet litter.

Lignetics Acquires Fiber By-Products

Lignetics Group has acquired Fiber By-Products, a White Pigeon, Michigan-based recycler and wood pellet manufacturer, enabling the company to scale Fiber By-Products' production and reach a larger segment of the residential heating, BBQ and animal bedding markets. The transaction marks an exit for investor Beringea U.S., which originally invested in Fiber By-Products in 2013.

RelaDyne Acquires Great Lakes Lubricants

RelaDyne, the national lubricant distributor, has acquired Great Lakes Lubricants, a Grand Rapids, Michigan–based petroleum products and lubricants distributor with three locations across the state. The deal expands RelaDyne’s presence and product/service offerings in Michigan and strengthens its capabilities in commercial fleet and industrial manufacturing markets.

LS Power Acquires Algonquin Power & Utilities' Renewable Energy Business

LS Power completed the acquisition of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp.’s large-scale renewable energy business on January 8, 2025. LS Power created Clearlight Energy to operate the acquired ~3,000+ MW of operating wind, solar, battery and RNG assets, while its REV Renewables unit will acquire the remaining ~6,200 MW of development projects, expanding LS Power’s utility-scale renewables and storage footprint across the United States and Canada.

Oak Electric Acquires Great Lakes Electric; Northstar Capital Provides Financing to ShoreView-Backed Oak Electric

GEF Capital Partners Acquires Lifecycle Renewables

GEF Capital Partners, a Washington, D.C.-based sustainability-focused private equity firm, has completed the acquisition of Lifecycle Renewables, a Massachusetts-based producer of renewable heating oil (LR100). The investment will support increased production of LR100 and expansion of Lifecycle Renewables' geographic reach beyond the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic to meet growing demand from institutional customers.
