R-Zero, a smart building technology provider, has acquired SecureAire, a Dunedin-based HVAC filtration and air purification innovator. The deal expands R-Zero's indoor air quality and decarbonization capabilities by adding SecureAire's low-pressure-drop, electrically-enhanced MERV13+ filtration and measurement tools to its product portfolio.

The deal implies an enterprise value of approximately CAD 11 million with a potential earn-out of up to CAD 4 million; Duroair (headquartered in Niagara Falls, Ontario) will continue to operate under its brand and has about 10 employees.

Johnson Controls Acquires Silent-Aire

Johnson Controls has agreed to acquire Silent-Aire, a global provider of hyperscale data center cooling equipment and modular data center solutions, in an all-cash transaction valued at up to $870 million (approximately $630 million upfront plus earnouts). The acquisition, expected to close subject to regulatory approvals, expands Johnson Controls' capabilities and presence in the hyperscale data center vertical and is expected to be immediately accretive to adjusted EPS in fiscal 2022.
