AdeptAg Acquires Plantech Control Systems Family of Companies

AdeptAg, a North American controlled-environment agriculture (CEA) platform based in Oberlin, Ohio, acquired Plantech Control Systems and its associated businesses Plantech West and JM Controls and Electric. The deal adds electrical automation, controls and packing/sorting capabilities to AdeptAg’s platform and is intended to expand local service offerings and geographic reach for growers in the Leamington–Vineland–Chatham region of Ontario, Canada.

Oldcastle APG Acquires Gardenscape Bagging Facilities

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, has acquired two Gardenscape bagging facilities in Archbold, Ohio and Emlenton, Pennsylvania. The assets will be integrated into Oldcastle APG’s Lawn & Garden business to expand its geographic reach and enhance lawn & garden capabilities across the Midwest and East Coast; terms were not disclosed.

Hydrobuilder Holdings Acquires New England Hydroponics

Hydrobuilder Holdings LLC acquired New England Hydroponics, adding five retail locations and warehouse capacity in Massachusetts and Maine and marking Hydrobuilder’s entry into the Northeastern U.S. The acquisition expands Hydrobuilder’s omnichannel footprint to 22 retail locations and 9 warehouses and is intended to accelerate growth in the Commercial and retail CEA (controlled-environment agriculture) markets.

Aurora Cannabis Acquires Controlling Interest in Bevo Farms

Aurora Cannabis acquired a 50.1% controlling stake in Bevo Agtech Inc., the parent of Bevo Farms Ltd., and will consolidate Bevo's operations. The deal (approx. $45M cash on closing plus contingent payments) gives Aurora access to Bevo's plant propagation expertise, while Bevo will acquire Aurora's Aurora Sky facility in Edmonton to expand production and geographic reach.
