Bowmark-backed Aston Lark Acquires Robertson Low

Aston Lark, backed by private equity firm Bowmark, has acquired Robertson Low, one of Ireland’s largest independent insurance brokers. The deal is Aston Lark’s first overseas purchase and is intended to expand the group’s presence and specialist insurance and employee benefits capabilities in Ireland and the UK.

Bowmark-backed Aston Lark has completed two add-on acquisitions in 2019, acquiring Poole-based household broker Highworth Insurance and Midlands-centred Jobson James insurance broking and employee benefits group. Highworth places over £10 million of gross premium annually while Jobson James brings specialist expertise in rail, real estate and trade credit, helping Aston Lark grow its gross written premium to nearly £350 million.
