Assisi Pet Care, the Harwood Private Equity-backed pet food platform, has acquired Poland-based Maced, a leading European manufacturer of natural dog treats. Crescent Capital Group’s European Specialty Lending strategy provided financing to support Harwood’s refinancing of Assisi and fund the acquisition, enabling Assisi to gain manufacturing control and expand its geographic coverage across major European pet-food markets.

Terms were not disclosed; Brown Gibbons Lang & Company served as financial advisor and facilitated a sale-leaseback of Crest's 575,000-square-foot Ashton, Illinois facility via TPG Angelo Gordon's Net Lease business. Harwood said the acquisition will support Crest Foods’ next phase of growth.
