Gemspring Capital (through an affiliate) has acquired The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's polymer chemicals business, including manufacturing plants in Houston and Beaumont, Texas, and an R&D facility in Akron, Ohio. Goodyear will retain certain chemical facilities in Niagara Falls, New York and Bayport, Texas; Gemspring plans to operate the acquired business as a standalone platform to accelerate product development, expand into adjacent chemical categories, and pursue growth through investment and strategic acquisitions.

One Rock Capital Partners Acquires Kankakee Specialty Chemicals Site from BASF (Kensing)

One Rock Capital Partners' affiliate has completed the acquisition of BASF's Kankakee, Illinois manufacturing site and associated specialty-chemicals businesses and established the standalone company Kensing. The newly independent business, led by CEO Serge Rogasik, employs roughly 160–190 people and produces plant-derived specialty ingredients (phytosterols, natural vitamin E, anionic surfactants and esters) serving personal care, food & nutrition, healthcare and agriculture markets.

Kemper Group Acquires EastRock Solutions

Kemper Group has acquired EastRock Solutions, a Pennsylvania-based equipment dealer, and will combine it with Old Dominion Equipment & Supply and EESSCO under the Kemper brand. Headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, Process Solutions makes custom plastic, nylon, monofilament and zinc products serving healthcare, consumer and industrial end markets and employs roughly 1,700–1,800 people across 19 facilities.
