Tiger Infrastructure Acquires Forsa Energy from Riverstone

Tiger Infrastructure Partners has acquired Forsa Energy’s distributed flexible power generation platform from Riverstone Holdings. Forsa Energy owns and operates over 250 MW of flexible gas-fired reciprocating engine capacity across the North of England and Scotland (all backed by 15-year Capacity Market contracts) and has a pipeline to grow to over 650 MW; Tiger will provide growth capital to build out the platform and support the UK’s energy transition.

Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC (Masdar) has completed the acquisition of 70% of the outstanding shares of TERNA ENERGY SA from GEK TERNA SA and other shareholders at €20 per share, valuing TERNA ENERGY at an enterprise value of €3.2 billion. Masdar will seek regulatory approval to launch an all-cash mandatory tender offer for the remaining shares and plans to scale TERNA ENERGY's renewable capacity to 6 GW by 2029 as part of a broader push to expand its European platform.

First State Investments Acquires 40% Stake in Terra‑Gen from Energy Capital Partners

First State Investments (FSI) has agreed to acquire a 40% stake in renewable-energy developer and operator Terra‑Gen from Energy Capital Partners (ECP); terms were not disclosed and the deal is expected to close in Q4 2020 or early 2021 subject to regulatory approvals. Terra‑Gen, headquartered in New York, owns and operates utility-scale wind, solar, energy storage and geothermal assets (over 1,600 MW operating and more than 3,000 MW under advanced development); FSI said the investment will help execute the company’s growth plan.

Equinor and SSE Thermal Acquire Triton Power from Energy Capital Partners

Equinor and SSE Thermal have completed the £341 million acquisition of Triton Power from Energy Capital Partners, forming a 50:50 joint venture to own Triton. The deal includes the 1.2 GW Saltend Power Station and positions the buyers to decarbonise flexible power generation — including plans to prepare Saltend to run on up to 30% hydrogen from 2027 and eventual conversion to hydrogen — while supporting Equinor's H2H Saltend hydrogen project.
