Spell Capital, a Minneapolis-based private equity firm, announced an investment in Asian Pacific Colorants Pty Ltd, the largest supplier of plastic masterbatch colorants in Australia and New Zealand. Asian Pacific Colorants operates four plants across ANZ, employs 100+ people and generates over $55 million in annual sales; Spell Capital said the deal represents a re-entry into the masterbatch business and that it is pursuing additional global opportunities in the sector.

Techmer PM Acquires Colors for Plastics

The acquisition expands Techmer PM's product offerings and color technology capabilities, and brings Colors for Plastics' Elk Grove Village, Illinois and Spartanburg, South Carolina sites and employees into Techmer's organization.

SK Capital Acquires Majority Interest in Deltech's Monomers, Polymers and European Businesses

Deltech CEO and founder Bob Elefante retains a significant ownership stake and will remain actively involved; the business employs about 135 people across Baton Rouge (headquarters), Troy, Ohio and Haverhill, United Kingdom.

Techmer PM Acquires OptiColor, Inc.

Techmer PM, a materials design company based in Clinton, Tennessee, has acquired OptiColor, Inc., a Huntington Beach, California-based color compounder specializing in color concentrates and masterbatches. DalFort Capital Partners (via Key Polymer) Acquires Unichem, Inc.

DalFort Capital Partners, through its affiliate Key Polymer Holdings, LLC (Key Polymer), has acquired Unichem, Inc., a Haw River, North Carolina-based manufacturer of specialty adhesives and custom-formulated chemicals. The acquisition is an add-on to Key Polymer intended to create operational synergies and strengthen the combined companies' position across multiple end markets including automotive, construction and consumer products.

ChromaScape Acquires Greenville Colorants

ChromaScape, a specialty chemicals manufacturer, has acquired Greenville Colorants, a processor of liquid and powder dyes with a portfolio of over 2,000 products and manufacturing locations in New Jersey, South Carolina and California. The deal expands ChromaScape's product capabilities and extends its manufacturing footprint in the Southeast; Greenville's leadership (Ron Weiss and Joe Lynch) invested in the transaction and will join ChromaScape's executive team.
