Polaris Transportation Group Acquires PRI Logistics

Polaris Transportation Group, a privately held Canadian cross-border LTL carrier, has acquired PRI Logistics, a Vaughan, Ontario-based 3PL brokerage. The acquisition—effective March 2, 2020—will integrate PRI into the Polaris Global Logistics brand to expand Polaris's service offering and cross-border logistics capabilities.

Financial terms were not disclosed; Livingston (founded 1945) employs roughly 2,700 people and is Canada’s largest customs broker. Platinum Equity acquired Livingston in 2019 and has overseen a multi-year transformation of the business.

PLS Logistics Services, a technology-driven third-party logistics provider based in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, has acquired D&L Transport, a freight brokerage headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas. D&L will operate as an independent subsidiary with Brian DeFrain remaining president, and PLS expects the transaction to increase its annual revenue run rate to $950 million (with a projected ~$1.2 billion in 2022).
