An affiliate of Sun European Partners has agreed to acquire DD Group (formerly Dental Directory), the UK and Ireland's leading dental and medical aesthetics distributor and services provider, from IDH Group and Palamon Capital Partners. The corporate carve-out, expected to close in June 2022, positions DD for a buy-and-build expansion across the UK, Ireland and wider Europe while providing IDH with proceeds to deleverage and focus on its core dental services business.

Heartland Dental Acquires American Dental Partners (ADPI)

Heartland Dental, the Effingham, Illinois-based dental support organization majority owned by KKR, signed an agreement to acquire American Dental Partners (ADPI), a Wakefield, Massachusetts–based DSO that supports 23 dental group practices and roughly 278 locations. ADPI, a portfolio company of JLL Partners, will join Heartland’s network (creating a combined footprint of over 2,300 supported dentists and more than 1,400 locations); the deal is structured as an add-on to Heartland’s KKR-backed platform and is expected to close in Q2 2021 subject to customary conditions.

iSmile Dental Products Acquires Dental Savings International

The deal combines DSI's East Coast distribution capabilities with iSmile's West Coast operations to create a bicoastal platform that expands product selection and shortens delivery times for customers.

Drilling Tools International Acquires Superior Drilling Products

Drilling Tools International Corp. (DTI) agreed to acquire Superior Drilling Products, Inc. (SDP/SDPI) for approximately $32.2 million in cash and DTI stock, a deal approved by both companies' boards and expected to close in Q3 2024. The transaction brings SDP's Drill‑N‑Ream technology, PDC bit manufacturing and engineering capabilities into DTI to expand product offerings, capture manufacturing and distribution synergies, and support expansion—particularly in the Middle East.
