Apricus Generation Acquires Controlling Interest in Nexus Renewables

Apricus Generation has acquired a controlling interest in Nexus Renewables, a Toronto-based solar and energy storage developer and independent power producer with a 500+ MW North American project pipeline. By joining the Apricus platform, Nexus will receive strategic oversight and capital to advance its pipeline to generation as Apricus builds a national distributed solar and battery IPP platform.

Coinciding with the close, Avantus secured a $522 million development facility arranged by KKR Capital Markets and SMBC to accelerate deployment of its more than 30 GWdc solar and 94 GWh storage pipeline across the Western United States.

CNX Resources Corporation closed the acquisition of the natural gas upstream and associated midstream business of Apex Energy II, LLC, a portfolio company of funds managed by Carnelian Energy Capital Management, for approximately $505 million (effective Oct. 1, 2024). The bolt-on expands CNX's Marcellus and Utica leasehold in the Appalachian Basin (~36,000 net acres, including significant undeveloped Utica and Marcellus acreage) and adds existing midstream infrastructure expected to be immediately accretive to free cash flow.
