Waystar Holding Corp. completed the acquisition of Iodine Software, adding Iodine’s clinical dataset and client base of more than 1,000 hospitals and health systems to Waystar’s healthcare payment platform. The deal expands Waystar’s total addressable market by over 15%, strengthens its AI-driven clinical and financial intelligence capabilities, and is expected to be accretive to margins and non-GAAP net income per share in 2027.

Iodine Software, a healthcare AI and revenue-cycle solutions provider based in Austin, Texas, has acquired ChartWise Medical Systems, a Wakefield, Rhode Island-based clinical documentation improvement (CDI) SaaS company. The acquisition combines ChartWise’s Best in KLAS CDI workflow with Iodine’s clinical AI capabilities to expand Iodine’s clinical predictions and CDI offerings across hospitals, health systems and outpatient settings.

Yahoo Acquires Artifact, the AI-driven News Platform by Instagram Co-founders

Yahoo has acquired Artifact, the AI-driven news aggregation and personalization platform created by Instagram co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. Artifact will stop operating as a standalone app and its AI personalization technology will be integrated into Yahoo products, including the Yahoo News app; the acquisition closed on March 29, 2024 and financial terms were not disclosed. Systrom and Krieger will serve in an advisory capacity during the transition.
