Cetera Holdings, the holding company of Cetera Financial Group, has acquired The Retirement Planning Group, LLC (TRPG), an independent RIA headquartered in Leawood, Kansas. TRPG manages approximately $1.4 billion in AUM across about 1,825 client accounts, has ~40 employees (including 14 advisors), and will join Cetera’s advisor network to expand its wealth-management capabilities and advisor affiliations.

BRP Group Acquires Burnham Benefits and Burnham Gibson Wealth Advisors

BRP Group, through its middle-market subsidiary Baldwin Krystyn Sherman Partners (BKS-Partners), agreed to acquire Burnham Benefits Insurance Services, Inc. and Burnham Gibson Wealth Advisors, Inc., expanding BRP's footprint in Southern California and adding approximately $52.6 million of annualized revenue and ~130 colleagues. The transaction brings wealth management capabilities (BGWA with nearly $2.5 billion AUM) into BRP's middle-market operating group and is expected to close on December 31, 2020, subject to customary closing conditions.

Owner Brian Dightman becomes a W‑2 advisor at TRPG as part of TRPG’s ongoing M&A strategy to integrate independent advisors and expand its assets and client base.

BRP Group, Inc. Acquires Brush Creek Partners

(NASDAQ: BRP) has entered into an agreement to acquire substantially all assets of Brush Creek, LLC (doing business as Brush Creek Partners), a Kansas City–based provider of commercial insurance, technology risk management and due diligence solutions. The asset acquisition (bringing ~20 colleagues) is intended to deepen BRP Group’s Cyber & Technology and VC/PE/Construction industry expertise and expand its risk-management capabilities.

The Retirement Planning Group (TRPG), Cetera’s employee-based RIA, closed the acquisition of HMC Partners, an advisory firm based in Greensboro, North Carolina, bringing approximately $425 million in assets to Cetera/TRPG. HMC Partners serves more than 500 households; co‑founders John Hardy and Gib McEachran have joined TRPG following a multi-year affiliation with Summit Financial Networks.

BRP Group Acquires Insgroup, Inc.

BRP Group, through its middle‑market subsidiary BKS Partners, agreed to acquire all outstanding equity of Insgroup, Inc., a Houston‑based commercial P&C and employee benefits brokerage with approximately $38.51 million of annualized revenues and ~160 employees. The deal expands BRP Group's middle‑market presence in Texas (notably Houston) and brings Insgroup's leadership team, including CEO Brian Kapiloff, into BRP's regional management structure.
