River Associates Investments, a Chattanooga-based private equity firm, has acquired JBC Technologies, a precision die-cutting and flexible materials converter headquartered in North Ridgeville, Ohio. JBC supplies die-cut and assembled components to OEMs across automotive, HVAC, appliance, electronics and industrial end markets and operates additional facilities in Madison, Wisconsin.

Riskonnect Acquires Castellan Solutions

Riskonnect, a TA Associates- and Thoma Bravo-backed integrated risk management software provider, has acquired Castellan Solutions, a global provider of business continuity and operational resilience software, consulting and managed services. The deal brings Castellan’s ~130 employees and 750+ customers into Riskonnect, expanding Riskonnect’s IRM platform with business continuity and resilience capabilities; Resurgens Technology Partners sold Castellan and will remain an investor in the combined company.

River Associates Acquires Yale Cordage

River Associates Investments (River) partnered with Yale Cordage management to acquire Yale Cordage, a designer and manufacturer of high‑performance synthetic rope based in Saco, Maine. River funded the transaction from its River VII fund with subordinated debt and an equity co‑investment from Northstar Capital and debt financing from TD Bank; River plans to pursue add‑on acquisitions to grow Yale's capabilities and end‑market reach.

Allison Transmission Acquires Walker Die Casting and C&R Tool

Allison Transmission acquired Walker Die Casting Inc. (Lewisburg, TN) and C&R Tool and Engineering, Inc. (Muscle Shoals, AL) in September 2019 to bring critical die-casting and tooling capabilities in-house. The purchases strengthen Allison's supply chain and manufacturing capabilities for transmission and powertrain components; the combined deal value was reported at approximately $103 million.

River Associates Acquires Presco Polymers

River Associates partnered with Presco Polymers' management to acquire Presco, a Sherman, Texas-based manufacturer of commercial marking products and customized PVC films. Financing for the transaction was provided by NXT Capital and junior capital provider Northstar Capital (which also made an equity co-investment); River plans to pursue add-on acquisitions to grow Presco.

May River Capital Forms Advanced Material Processing and Acquires Kason Corporation

Chicago-based private equity firm May River Capital formed a new platform, Advanced Material Processing (AMP), and concurrently acquired Kason Corporation to be part of the platform alongside existing portfolio company Marion Process Solutions. Northstar Capital provided subordinated debt and an equity co-investment to finance the transaction. The deal aims to consolidate complementary material-processing equipment businesses to expand engineering capabilities and accelerate organic and acquisitive growth in hygienic process end markets.
