Sharp Acquires Berkshire Sterile Manufacturing

Sharp has acquired Berkshire Sterile Manufacturing (BSM), a Lee, Massachusetts-based fill-finish CDMO specializing in sterile injectable products. The deal adds small-to-medium scale sterile injectable manufacturing (including isolator-based filling and lyophilization) to Sharp’s clinical supply, packaging and distribution capabilities and brings BSM’s ~228 employees into the Sharp organization.

Sole Source Capital Acquires Westwood Laboratories

Sole Source Capital LLC, an industrial-focused private equity firm, has acquired Westwood Laboratories, a full-service contract manufacturer headquartered in Azusa, California that serves beauty, personal care, pet and over-the-counter drug brands. Five Points Capital provided unitranche debt and an equity co-invest to support the acquisition; terms were not disclosed.

Blue Wolf Capital Partners has agreed to acquire seven oral solid dosage (OSD) manufacturing and development facilities from Recipharm (located in Sweden, France and Spain) and has also agreed, subject to regulatory approvals, to acquire Synerlab, a Strasbourg-based CDMO. The transactions are intended to form a new independent CDMO platform (headquartered in the UK) that expands Blue Wolf's pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities and commercial reach across Europe.
