Jones Logistics (a portfolio company of Jones Capital) has acquired Nationwide Express, a Central Tennessee-based provider of dedicated trucking, warehousing, 3PL, recycling transportation and waste management services. The deal expands JoLo’s geographic footprint across the Southeast and enhances its service offerings (warehousing, intermodal and managed transportation), increasing the combined company's scale and capabilities.

Forward Air Acquires Value Logistics to Bolster Intermodal Drayage in Memphis

Forward Air Corporation has agreed to acquire the assets of Value Logistics, Inc., a Memphis-based intermodal drayage provider, for $2.25 million. The acquisition (expected to close in October 2020) expands Forward Air's intermodal drayage capabilities and strengthens its presence in the Memphis market; Value Logistics generates approximately $6 million in annual revenue and operates with about 20 employees and ~30 independent contractors.

BlueGrace Logistics Acquires FreightCenter

BlueGrace Logistics, a PE-backed third-party logistics (3PL) provider, has acquired FreightCenter, a 26-year-old online transportation solutions provider. The deal will integrate FreightCenter's customers and online freight capabilities with BlueGrace's BlueShip TMS, carrier network and managed logistics services while FreightCenter continues to operate under its existing brand.

Transportation Insight Acquires Meridian Logistics LLC (dba FreightPros)

Transportation Insight has acquired Meridian Logistics LLC, which operates as FreightPros, a freight brokerage founded in 2009 and based in Austin, Texas. The deal strengthens Transportation Insight's LTL brokerage capabilities and FreightPros will initially operate within Transportation Insight Holdings before being integrated into the Nolan Transportation Group brokerage unit.

H.I.G. Capital Acquires Majority Stake in Capstone Logistics from The Jordan Company

H.I.G. Capital agreed to acquire a majority stake in Capstone Logistics, a Peachtree Corners, Georgia–based third‑party logistics provider, from an affiliate of The Jordan Company. Capstone’s management, led by CEO Steve Taylor, will remain shareholders and TJC will retain a minority stake and reinvest; the deal is positioned to accelerate Capstone’s organic growth and acquisition strategy.

Forward Air Acquires J&P Hall Express

Forward Air Corporation agreed to acquire the assets of J&P Hall Express, a privately held expedited transportation provider headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The asset purchase (expected to close in May 2021) expands Forward Air's LTL pickup-and-delivery footprint in southern Georgia and northern Florida, adding approximately $15.8 million in annual revenue, ~70 trucks and about 110 employees.
