AgroLiquid Acquires Monty's Plant Food Company

AgroLiquid, a St. Johns, Michigan-based liquid fertilizer manufacturer, will acquire Louisville-based Monty's Plant Food Company effective Jan. 1, 2025. The deal combines AgroLiquid's liquid fertilizer technology and manufacturing scale with Monty's humic and soil-health expertise to broaden product capabilities and deliver new crop nutrition solutions while both brands continue to operate independently through the 2025 growing season.

10X Capital Venture Acquisition Corp. II completed its merger with African Agriculture, Inc., with the combined company changing its name to African Agriculture Holdings Inc. and beginning trading on the Nasdaq Global Market under the ticker AAGR. The transaction brings a commercial-scale alfalfa farming operation (currently ~750 acres in production out of ~62,000 acres secured in Senegal) to the U.S. public markets and is intended to fund scaling of agricultural production and geographic expansion across Africa.

Nutrien Acquires Actagro from Norwest Equity Partners

Nutrien has acquired Actagro, a developer, manufacturer and marketer of environmentally sustainable soil and plant health products, from Norwest Equity Partners. The acquisition (announced February 5, 2019 and closed March 15, 2019) expands Nutrien’s product portfolio and R&D capabilities to support crop nutrient efficiency and soil health solutions distributed through its retail channels.

GrowerIQ Acquires Ample Organics from Akerna

Toronto-based GrowerIQ has acquired fellow cannabis software provider Ample Organics from U.S.-based Akerna in an all-cash deal that closed in December; financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition brings Ample's seven employees onto GrowerIQ's ~25-person team and combines two seed-to-sale ERP platforms to create what GrowerIQ calls the largest cannabis tech platform in Canada (and a stronger position in Europe).
