Agrality Acquires Nebraska Irrigated Seeds

Agrality, an Argentina-based seed industry services company, has acquired Nebraska Irrigated Seeds, a Fremont, Nebraska seed production and processing business. The purchase adds four sites, ~400,000 sq ft of warehousing/processing capacity and access to thousands of acres of seed production, accelerating Agrality's expansion into the U.S. Midwest seed market.

II completed its merger with African Agriculture, Inc., with the combined company changing its name to African Agriculture Holdings Inc. and beginning trading on the Nasdaq Global Market under the ticker AAGR. The transaction brings a commercial-scale alfalfa farming operation (currently ~750 acres in production out of ~62,000 acres secured in Senegal) to the U.S. public markets and is intended to fund scaling of agricultural production and geographic expansion across Africa.

Toronto-based GrowerIQ has acquired fellow cannabis software provider Ample Organics from U.S.-based Akerna in an all-cash deal that closed in December; financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition brings Ample's seven employees onto GrowerIQ's ~25-person team and combines two seed-to-sale ERP platforms to create what GrowerIQ calls the largest cannabis tech platform in Canada (and a stronger position in Europe).
