Toronto-based private equity firm Lynx Equity Limited has acquired Yellowhead Wood Products Inc., a 30-year-old secondary wood remanufacturer headquartered in Edson, Alberta. The acquisition expands Lynx's wood re-manufacturing platform (joining Winfield Wood and Lath) and was supported by $3.5 million in acquisition financing from BDC Capital; the sellers were the shareholders of Yellowhead and the sell-side process was led by MNP Corporate Finance.

Toronto-based private equity firm Lynx Equity Limited has acquired Excellent Signs, a London, Ontario-based full-service signmaker, as an add-on to its Lynx Signage Portfolio. Excellent Signs — founded in 1983 and serving clients such as Cadillac Fairview, TD Bank, RBC and Cineplex — will be led by Al Nasser (president of Meteor Signs) to ensure integration and operational continuity.

Angeles Equity Partners Acquires Solid Surface Care

An affiliate of Angeles Equity Partners has acquired a majority interest in Solid Surface Care Holdings, Inc., a national provider of specialty maintenance and restoration services headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Stellus Capital Management provided unitranche senior debt financing and an equity co-investment to support the transaction; management, led by co-founder and CEO Michael Crippen, will remain in place to help scale the business across its national self-performing platform.

Gemspring Capital Acquires Creative Labs

The deal is an add-on to Lynx's existing flooring portfolio (including Floor Solutions) and is intended to capture market share in the Portland area while leveraging operational synergies and experienced personnel.
