Morgan Stanley has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Eaton Vance for an equity value of approximately $7 billion, creating a larger Morgan Stanley Investment Management platform with expanded product and distribution capabilities. The deal combines Eaton Vance’s asset management and retail distribution strengths with Morgan Stanley’s global scale to increase fee-based revenues, deliver cost synergies, and broaden client offerings.
